Hair Tinsel Directions

1. Create a slip-knot by folding the tinsel in half, then hold the tinsel about 3” from the fold. With the other hand pull the tail through the loop.

2. Slide the loop of the slip-knot onto 1-3 strands of hair (I like to use only 1 hair so it won’t get caught in the brush) and pull snug against the hair at the scalp.

3. Hold the two strands of tinsel in one hand and the hair strand in the other hand. Tie them together. Pull until the knot is snug against the hair at the scalp.

4. Drop the hair and separate the two strands of hair tinsel. Pull the strands of hair tinsel gently apart in opposite directions to lock the knot onto the hair.

5. Tie a knot using the two pieces of tinsel at the base of the hair tight and secure. Trim tinsel to length of hair.

Notes:

Tie hair tinsel along the part of the hair just under a few hairs to blend in better.

Make sure the knot is tied to the base of the hair, against the scalp. If it is not tied correctly against the scalp, it could be easily brushed or pulled out.

Try not to let fly-away pieces of hair get tangled in your knot. Your can wet the hair to help prevent this.

You can put a drop of eyelash glue on the knot to stay in longer.

You can tie just a few pieces of hair tinsel for a hint of sparkle or 10-15 for a more dramatic look.

To Remove:

Slide hair tinsel off hair by gently pulling on the tinsel at the knot. Hair may pull out.
